Okay, so this is a really, really random post to have after weeks and weeks of relativel silence on my part, but has anyone seen the trailers for the movie Doom based on Doom3? Holy CRAP, this looks like groundbreaking cinematography based in part on the aesthetic of a first-person shooter. I will absolutely waste money and see this in the theater after it comes out on 21 Oct 2005.

Granted, The Rock plays the central role of Sarge. And I haven't owned a gaming platform since before they were called Gaming Platforms. Back when I could plug my ColecoVision emulator into my ADAM pc WAY back before the Mac came out - I guess that would be the last time I was addicted to a video game. (It was the spaceship game Xaxon, and it was wonderful...) And I will likely never own one given how much time I would spend staring at a screen after a day of staring at multiple relatively smaller screens.

But the movie adaptions. OH, the movie adaptations. Bring it on, #$%^&^%#$'s. I am sorta-watching sorta-football right now (the Eagles are getting KILLED!), so this may all very well be the testosterone talking. Either way, it looks promising from a hormonal perspective.
