ADDRESS CHANGES
Greetings from the not-so-inclimate, not-so-white North! We have officially relocated to Buffalo, NY and the contact information for our new pad overlooking the very gothic Buffalo Psychiatric Center is as follows:
[CENSORED]
Working with Verisign and 3Com while in VA were great experiences - salutations to the teams at verisignwebsites.com and 3com.com/government!
SITES
All brianfending.com design services are soon moving exclusively to http://www.rhythmicmedia.com/ . I have sold all of my clients to myself; it was a terribly complex negotiation. If you are a design client, you will soon only receive mail from rhythmicmedia.com. The brianfending.com site has been updated to reflect only my musical and multimedia doings, happenings, and everything in between.
I've been doing more work with Access and ASP and, even though I hold Microsoft to be as evil as ever, I must say that I'm ultimately pleased with IIS as an engine for ASP interactivity in database-enabled websites. The next few months will hold more of these sites.
COLOR
I'm using more color in my designs. I don't know why the shift is happening, aside from my decreasing fascination with white space and growing love of additive and subtractive color sets. Notable on the other side of my life is that my performing is becoming more cymbal-oriented. If there are any hotshot cognitive psychologists out there to take a stab at putting these trends together, please let me know.
WORKING FOR FOOD
In the midst of a recession and the wake our SO well timed move, I'm looking for work with a self-inflicted resume. (Indie music lovers will note the reference here.) If you have any leads toward this end, need a percussionist, or need a site or database designed, let me know! Oddly enough, Buffalo probably offers the best opportunity to do everything I know and love at once. Note: I don't actually work for food - that's just a poor metaphor. (Unless it's Cincinnati chili, in which case we'll negotiate.)
THINGS MUSICAL
The "Shiny+Round" release from Fending/Matis on the Metatron Press label (MPCD-109R, US$10 plus S/H) is now available at http://www.metatronpress.com/ . We are booking Fall tour dates soon, so please let me know if your university or local venue is interested in a promo pack! [Tip: look toward a local performing arts series for funding or support.]
I'll next be seen locally at the Glory of Christmas shows at the Riviera Theater in North Tonawanda, NY, 14-16 Dec 2001. It promises to be another exciting run of shows.
Solo recitals are being planned for May/June 2002. Call for booking information.
THINGS PERSONAL
If I'm lucky, you've noticed that I've been out of touch for a while. Life will soon not be so much about boxes and more about shoveling as a pastime and valid form of daily exercise. Please stop by for cocoa and banter when you're in the area!
